Education charity CVQO celebrated the achievements of 91 young cadets from Kent, as they were presented with their CVQO-led BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Teamwork, Personal Skills and Citizenship at Canterbury Cathedral last month.

The certificates were presented by Viscount De L'Isle, Lord-Lieutenant of Kent, in front of parents, adult volunteers who work with the cadets. The group was the largest single cohort ever to have been presented with CVQO certificates. The cadets, aged between 13 and 15 and represented St Johns Ambulance, The Air Training Corps, Army and Sea Cadets. For many of the cadets, the qualification was the first they had received, building their confidence in education from an early age. The BTEC level 1 qualification programme for young people aged 13 to 15 is funded by Eurobond Adhesives and is delivered by education charity Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation (CVQO). The organisation delivers educational programmes to young people who may be at risk of not achieving three or more passes at GCSE and are members of a youth organisation such as the Air cadets or St John Ambulance. The programmes are designed to inspire young people and re-engage them with formal education. It is with great pride that 91 such young people from across Kent received the BTEC level 1 certificates at a special event at Canterbury Cathedral last week. Eurobond Adhesive's managing director Simon Dearing commented: '' We are delighted to be able to fund this programme and share in the success of these young people. Inspiring young people to achieve academic success in their early years is essential in helping them gain future meaningful employment or more opportunities in advancing their academic careers through further education.
