The E4.1 range, from energy chain expert igus UK, is light, lean and low cost and is particularly suited to highly dynamic applications in assembly systems, the compact size and low weight of the E4.1 light gives customers the flexibility to build smaller equipment and presents further design opportunities, says the company.
The modular energy chain comprises of a tongue and groove design which interlocks the chain links allowing good torsion, resistance and stability. It has a built-in mechanism that stops each chain link at the predefined bend radius easily and quietly, which results in a smooth running chain and also ensures optimum load distribution. Specially designed outer links can be reversed to increase or decrease the camber, which is especially useful for designs where installation space is limited.
Filling space has been increased and the new mechanism for opening cross bars on both sides allows cables and hoses to be installed quickly and easily. The interior separation elements are easy to use and optimised to be cable friendly – they are made up of only five wear-proof and abrasion-optimised plastic separator parts that can be combined and interchanged. All igus energy chains are produced from technical plastics that are wear, corrosion and maintenance-free.
