3M consolidates masking tapes portfolio

In a move to simplify its range of masking tapes for the general industrial marketplace, 3M has consolidated its range and now offers just six core products which will meet virtually all masking needs, the company claims.

The move will benefit customers during the specification process as it will now be quicker and easier to identify a suitable product for each application. Kirsty Horsfall of 3M's Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division explained: "We appreciate the need to quickly identify the right masking tape for a particular job, as there are currently so many products available. The new range from 3M has been reduced to just six variations that are suitable for a multitude of applications; from bundling and sealing to paint masking or protecting a surface from scratching, with a variety of temperature performances and adhesive qualities. This simplifies the selection process and means that customers can quickly make the right choice." To mark the launch, 3M has introduced a Masking Tape Range Guide for customers and has reduced the prices of its paper masking tapes. All six products are also available in case and pallet quantities with up to 31% discount for bulk purchases.
