In producing its new electromechanical 730D suite of products Stahlwille Tools has claimed "another worldwide first".
Paul Elliott, managing director, explains: "The company has combined the principle of the 'clicking' torque wrench with the added benefits of electronic versions in a single tool.
"The software enables a user to set, record, save, and print results achieved, thereby giving complete process control and audit trail of the measuring process." Features highlighted by Stahlwille include:
Up to 7500 readings can be set, displayed, and stored electronically.
For each joint negative and positive tolerances can be defined individually.
Conversion from 'Nm' to 'ft.lb' and 'in.lb' is automatic.
If a different extension is entered it is taken into account automatically.
Complex conversion calculators are not required.
The guaranteed error margin is ±2%.
To complement the torque wrench Stahlwille has developed a clip-on angle module which provides "an accurate cost-saving solution for angle tightening". This feature is clipped on to the torque wrench tube and connected to the wrench with a jack cable.
