Latch reduces shock and vibration
The N2 compression latch, designed and developed by Southco, is suited to applications that are subject to shock and vibration, such as engine covers, access panels, and storage compartment doors on heavy-duty off-highway equipment and other transportation and industrial equipment.
"With snug compression and a maximum working load capacity of 1000N, each latch provides a consistent 6mm of pull-up compression to ensure door closure and minimise rattle, even in gasketed applications."
Southco reports that the lift-and-turn latch was developed in conjunction with major off-highway original equipment manufacturers.
Features include a stainless steel shaft and the mechanical advantage of lever-action tightening; a T-shaped handle for an easy grasp, even by operators wearing bulky work gloves; and a folding design that minimises protrusion above the door surface when not in use." Panel preparation and installation are simplified by the use of a single mounting hole.
