Hand tool for use with breakstem rivets

The five new Genesis tools weigh between 1.5kg and 2.28kg with pull forces that vary from 6.0kN to 18.68kN. Avdel's Wolfgang Colshom reports that new features include an additional piston return spring that under normal conditions reduces installation rates to 1.2 seconds per rivet, and an integrated cycle counter that tracks working strokes and alerts operators to maintenance schedules. "The tools also feature impact-resistant plastic bodies and heavy-duty rubber bases. A soft rubber grip reduces operator fatigue, and the air supply shut-ff can be controlled by the trigger - this contributes to energy saving and provides noise reduction benefits." The company's new 7537 tool for 'Speed Fastening' systems enlarges the range of Avdel's placing tools by offering a built-in version of the existing tool (7530), says Wolfgang Colshom. "In the new version the intensifier is made integral with the hand tool as with breakstem rivet tools. This is achieved by integrating the air cylinder and intensifier arrangement with the placing head into a single placing tool.
