Of this, some 48 panels will be used in the vaulted roof space, this offered a chance for the specialist joinery company to review and specify a fixing suitable for the application. Two key criteria had been identified, which are:
1/ Colour match to cladding board
2/ Fixing strength
Having hundreds of solutions to choose from made the task slightly more difficult, but it was thought a 'Non Removable' Pine Tree Clip would offer the best match. Having narrowed the search, it was then a matter of ensuring the correct combination of; hole size, head diameter & (as the application called for a blind hole) prong length.
From a dimensional point of view 47015 was the best choice for the application, which just left the colour match. The standard NATURAL item proved to be a perfect match to the board cladding material.
Final fixing & strength tests confirmed everything & the part has been listed in the 'bill of materials' for the refurbishment. Availability is not a problem as GBK stock the vast majority of the products offered & this will increase once the new HQ is completed and ready for operations to commence.
