EJOT to feature Plastic PT screw at FAST exhibition

1 min read

Evolved from EJOT’s market leading steel Delta PT fastener, a threadforming plastic variant has now been developed for applications where the material, that is being threadformed into, has considerably lower strength properties than the fastener itself.

EJOT UK’s team of industrial application engineers will be exhibiting the company’s portfolio of high performance thread-forming fastening products at three venues throughout 2016, beginning with April’s FAST exhibition, being hosted at the Concorde Conference Centre, Runway Park, Manchester airport.

Whilst the FAST exhibition historically presents a tried and trusted networking format, this is the roadshow’s first time at the Manchester venue, home to the iconic supersonic Anglo-French Concorde – and presenting an added attraction for visitors to the event.

The exhibition will also incorporate the Plastics Prototyping and Metals Exhibition, which presents the EJOT team with an ideal opportunity to present product samples from its own plastic fixings / fixings for plastics range. This includes:

Delta PTP®

Derived from EJOT’s market leading steel Delta PT fastener, this plastic version has been developed for applications where the material being threadformed into has considerably lower strength properties than the fastener itself. It therefore makes sense to match the screw material and the material to be fastened. Manufactured from EMS Grivory HTV 5H1 material, the EOT Delta PT-P® makes it practical for unreinforced plastic to be viable for self-tapping assembly processes.

EJOT EPPsys

The EJOT® EPPsys- or EPP System - has been developed to fasten parts to foamed components, especially EPP (expanded polypropylene). As part of this product range, EJOT has developed the EPPsys RSD – a friction welding boss that provides highly effective fastening for EPP foams and honeycomb elements.

The friction welding process leaves the EPPsys RSD embedded in the EPP foam securely connecting to the molten material.

Both of these advanced fastening products will showcase alongside EJOT’s traditional range of metal threadforming fasteners which can be found in countless applications around the world.

The EJOT team will also be exhibiting at the Automechanika three day exhibition being held at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre in June, and the second Manufacturing and Engineering North East exhibition scheduled to take place at Newcastle’s Metro Arena in July.
