Your help is urgently needed for an online sealants survey

1 min read

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has commissioned UK Research Consultancy Risk Policy Analysis to review the uses of organotins with particular regard to the possible presence of tri-substituted tins as part of ECHA's work to identify potential substances of very high concern found in various sealants and encapsulants.

RPA has prepared two short online questionnaires to assist in the collection of information. One is for manufacturers and importers of organotins and the second is for downstream users. The questionnaires are to be completed either by individual companies or by industry associations on behalf of their members. BASA is recommending that its especially affected members, such as sealant and polyurethane producers, complete the survey online and then provide a copy of the information to the association's office by January 7, 2011. BASA will treat the information confidentially and combine into one submission on behalf of the UK and Ireland and forward a response to FEICA too who will also make a submission provided it receives a response from more than two member states. The information page explaining the reason for the survey and the DU questionnaire is attached. Further information including the links to both questionnaires is available online http://www.rpaltd.co.uk/news-organotins.shtml
