FAST & IASE Exhibitions – a record number of attendees on site

Last week's FAST & IASE Exhibitions saw hundreds of UK engineers and buyers and specifers of fasteners and adhesives flock to the National Motorcycle Museum to take in the latest developments in the field.

The exhibitions saw a record attendance this year, and many visitors chose to arrive early in the morning to discuss their needs with exhibitors. In fact the number of visitors that arrived in the first hour alone (between 0930 and 1030) was almost four times the number that came in the same period at the 2009 show! Commenting on the events afterwards, show director Mark Newby observed "Despite the continued attempts of the media to paint a dark picture of the UK economy, manufacturing is still strong and the buzz at last week's show was clear evidence of it. Britain's manufacturing excellence is based on innovation, imagination and the engineering expertise to make things, and make them better than our international competitors do. The visitors included top engineers from leading OEMs large and small, all of them keen to embrace the latest opportunities and new products in fastening, adhesives and assembly. They met with an eclectic portfolio of some of the best fastening and adhesives suppliers in the business and I know that many exhibitors have had their best ever show with us as a result". The next FAST & IASE Exhibitions take place in the North, at the Pavilions of Harrogate on 26th April 2012.
